Currently, most bus stop shelters in Oklahoma City are unsightly and in need of repair, giving the system a poor image. The new bus stop shelters proposed by this initiative will help improve this image and will introduce the public to the value of public transportation.
Oklahoma City is 607 square miles and growing and this means added mileage for the average commuter resulting in additional dependency on fossil fuel and increased pollution.
The Oklahoma City Bus Stop Initiative will qualify Oklahoma City as being a progressive metropolitan region and will enrich the existing transit system.
