In 2005, AIA Central Oklahoma held a design competition in which participants were asked to design bus stops for Oklahoma City. Phase II will focus on the construction of some of these stops around the Oklahoma City Metro Area.
The new bus shelters are intended to encourage more business commuters to consider Metro Transit as an alternative means of transportation as well as raise awareness to the positive impact quality architecture can bring to the built environment.
